Throughout Kings Letter he uses many compelling sentence but the one that compels me the most is “we know through painful experience that freedom is never voluntarily given by the oppressor; it must be demanded by the oppressed” in paragraph thirteen. This quote is compelling to me because it is the way of life. No matter when in life if you were born in the eighteen hundreds or in the twenty first century, people are always going for freedom.
There is always someone who is pressing for freedom at some point in time. During the eighteen hundreds the Americans were demanding freedom from their “oppressor.” We fought and fought for decades to have our freedom and obviously, it is worth fighting for. During life in the twenty first century kids always fight for freedom from their parents. We are always fighting to be able to do whatever we want on Friday and Saturday night and that is our way of fighting for freedom. One of the most common quotes is “freedom is giving its earned.” Throughout life, we are always fight for our freedom and may not always get it but you will never get your freedom if you never fight for it and it must be “demanded by the oppressor.” THROUGH OUT MY LIFE TIME I HAVE GONE THROUGH MANY TIMES WHERE I HAVE HAD FIGHT FOR MY FREEDOM AND MOST OF THEM ARE PROLONGED FIGHTS. ONCE WHEN I WAS ABOUT TO TURN SIXTEEN, I ALREADY HAD MY LICENSE AND WAS READY GO GET MY LICENSE, BUT MY DAD DIDNT THINK I SHOULD HAVE THE FREEDOM OF BEING ABLE TO DRIVE. I HAD TO FIGHT TO GET MY FREEDOM TO DRIVE, MY DAD MADE ME WRITE A LONG ESSAY OVER WHY I DESERVED TO HAVE THE FREEDOM THAT COMES WITH DRIVING. MY ESSAY WAS OF COURSE NOT THE GREATEST EVER BUT IT DID THE JOB. I WROTE THE ESSAY AND HAD TO PRESENT IT TO MY DAD I PITIED ON HIM SAYING THAT HE WOULDNT HAVE TO WASTE HIS TIME AND THAT I WOULDNT HAVE TO BOTHER HIM DURING IS FAVORITE T.V. SHOW AND A LOT MORE STUFF. FINALLY HE DECIDED I WAS RIGHT AND CHOSE TO LET ME DRIVE. THIS WAS A EXAMPLE IN LIFE WHEN I HAD TO DEMAND FREEDOM FROM THE OPPRESSOR.
